Diva's Life, Health & Wellness: 4 Habits I Formed Since Beginning My Fitness Journey

This week marks the beginning of the third week that I have actively incorporated fitness into my daily routine. No more random Saturday home work outs o only be dropped for months on end. My days now begin with a morning walk. Because of this, there are certain habits I picked up to ensure the rest of my day goes uninterrupted. Keep reading to find out what they are.


1. Meal Prep

I go walking at 6:30 a.m. near my home and I have to be at work at 8:30 a.m. I pack both breakfast and lunch the night before along with a drink and snacks. This allows me to just grab my lunch bag from the fridge on my way out the door. I learned my lesson on Day 1 and didn't pack a breakfast and was starving at my desk when I got to work. Lesson learned!

2. Have Clothes Ready

The same routine with my meals is what I  use with my work clothes. I wear mainly dresses because they are so easy and summers in the south are beyond hot. I have my ensemble ready and hanging so when I'm getting dressed I can grab and go!



3. Prepare for Bed Early

Because I now get up so early, I ensure my meals, clothes, and work bag are ready for the next day by no later than 9 p.m. I start to unwind about 9:30-10 p.m. to ensure I'm still getting at least 7 1/2-8 hours of sleep. I DO NOT play about my rest. I reserve my late nights for the weekends.

4. Track My Steps and Meals 

I am more aware of my daily activities now. I want to make all of my steps count! I also take advantage of the meal tracker app on my phone. This has allowed me to be more cognizant of what I eat. This is great for snackers like myself!
