Okay ladies and gents. You may or may not have noticed that as you get older you skin changes. Well, I have definitely noticed. One of the changes I have noticed is I can no longer use the cutesy deodorant and forget about the scented ones. I have had to stray from the traditional white deodorants. Only one works for me now, but it's not about that brand, so let's get into this rock that also doubles as a deodorant.
Product Description: "Crystal Body Deodorant is made of Natural Mineral Salts which prevent body odor by creating an invisible protective barrier against odor causing bacteria. It is fragrance free, non-sticky, non-staining, leaves no white residue and can be used by both men and women. Crystal Body Deodorant can last up to a year of daily use."
Ingredient: Potassium Alum
Directions For Use: "Moisten the top of stone and smooth under arms and soles of feet."
I always saw Crystal rock deodorant in stores, but it never really grabbed me. That price tag didn't help either. It wasn't until my lymph nodes under my arms were getting so clogged and irritated that at some points I had to wear sports bras for relief. Then I came across a radio interview with Erykah Badu and Crystal deodorant came up again. I decided to give it a try.
First, being that it is a rock, you must dampen it before you use it. It's really not a rush and apply type of product. Also, from my experience, natural deodorants are not as strong, so I did a healthy amount of swipes per arm. Then the rock dries out and I have to remoisten and apply again. I usually did it twice per arm.
Performance: I did not feel as if I had to reapply throughout the day to stay fresh. NOTE: I did not do any strenuous exercise while testing this product. However, the friend I recommended it to said she loved it for her light days, but on her gym days, she had to wear her normal deodorant. I will definitely encourage you to test it out to see if it can hold up to your lifestyle.
Texture: Hard, smooth, rock.
Would I Recommend to a Friend: Yes, and have.
What natural deodorants do you recommend? I have tried a couple. Let me know if you want to see more reviews on natural hygeine products.
