What to Do This Weekend In: Atlanta, August 8-9, 2015

TGIF! I am so happy I can breathe for a bit this weekend. I've been hitting the ground running every since I got back from vacay nearly three weeks ago! Exhaustion aside, I've rounded up a few events that may strike your fancy when you're trying to figure out what to do and where to go this weekend in Atlanta. Kiss 104.1 is hosting the Flashback Music Festival. This year is it's 20th anniversary. It's guaranteed to be a great time with Chaka Khan as the headliner. Ger more info here.

What started as the "Hoodie Awards" by Steve Harvey on his radio show is now the Neighborhood Awards and has turned into a two day event. Now that's progress! Get more info here.

Seriously Silly! The Art & Whimsy of Mo Willems

Check out the life's work of children's illustrator Mo Willems at the High Museum of Art. The exhibit runs through 01/10/2016.

The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith

Twenty unique jewelry pieces by African American jewelry designer, Arthur "Art" Smith are also on display at the High Museum of Art now through 09/13/2015.
