Diva Info: 6 Things You Need to Know When Working Hair Shows and Other Conventions
While I've only been on my new job a couple of months, I have had the oppurtunity to work for two hair shows. Even though the list of shows is not extensive, the work was. By the end of the first day of working by hair show, I quickly learned a few things. They are as follows:
1. If you must wear heels or dress shoes(for men), bring a pair of comfotable shoes to change into at the end of the day. If the company you are working allows you to wear flats, dont forget those insoles!
2.Bring snacks and a beverages. The price of food inside convention center is sky high. It is always best to bring your own beverage and snacks.
3. Bring pain medicine. Working in this type of environment can be physically an mentally stressful, you may find your head and body aching by the end of the day.
4. Bring A light cardigan. Convention centers can be a bit chilly ss they have to make sure the atmosphere is comfortable for all its attendants.
5. Bring cash. You may find time to do a little shopping only to find out most small companies only take cash. You don't want to miss out on that unique find so be prepared.
6.Bring your buisness cards! Large shows and conventions are breeding grounds for networking, you never know who you're going to meet!
