I got my Goodwill fix this past weekend. I'm building my spring wardrobe. I bought a yellow and peach blazer. I also bought a black and white houndstooth blazer with royal blue stripes. LOVE! I can't wait to wear them!

Bronner Brothers Winter Hair Show

Two weekends ago I was granted the opportunity to work at the Bronner Brothers Hair Show. If you are unfamiliar with this event, it is a hair show held twice a year, in the spring and in the winter. For a week, salon owners, hair stylists, barbers, make up artists, and the general public come together to show new products and techniques as well as learn. People from all over the world come to this show. I met several people from London!

It was a great experience and I took pictures every chance I got. Warning: There are no rules when it comes to hair at the Bronner Brothers show. Everyone goes to extremes to stand out. With that being said, check out the pics!

Diva's DIY Beauty Guide: 5 Beauty Uses for Baking Soda

We are all familiar with this product. It has a home in the back of your refrigerator because our parents have told us it fights odor. Have you ever thought about adding baking soda to your beauty regimen? I know it may sound unlikely, but it seems our grandparents were on to something after all. Listed below are five beauty uses for baking soda.

'Fro Fashion Week 2012

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend a day of 'Fro Fashion Week. 'Fro Fashion Week's vision was to "highlight trendsetting events, people, and businesses within the natural hair, skin, and beauty industries." That it did; there were quite a few companies in attendance.

Many hair and skin car companies such as Design Essentials, The VBar Lady,Shea Moisture, Kynx, Beautiful Textures and Curls Unleashed by Organic Root Stimulator, and Coco Curls were sponsors of the event. Kim Coles, better know as Synclaire from the 90's sitcom Living Single and blogger Afrobella were also in attendance. Sadly I didn't get to snap a few pics.

I was one the test subjects in the KYNX room. The stylist used the KYNX gel with a two strand twist out. I took the twist out that evening and my coils were very defined, but too dry for my liking.

I recieved two goody bags from the event. It contained samples of:

Curls Unleashed Second Chance Curl Refresher and Take Command Curl Defining Creme,

JessieCurl Deep Conditioning Treatment, Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner, Confident Coils Styling Solutuin, Hair Cleansing Cream

Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding

Kynx I am Free Miracle Kink Cream

Design Essentials Natural Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Jojoba

Curls Curl Gel-les

Coco Curls (which really smell like cocoa!) sample which appears to be either a moisturizer or texture defining cream. The little jar did not specify

Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Shea Butter Soap

I also bought a glycerin based soap with goldenseal from The VBar Lady

Love, Peace, and Soooouuuulllllll..............

It is the first day of Black History Month and I was going to begin my black history fashion series, but plans changed when news broke this morning that Don Cornelius had passed. News reports say that his death is an apparent suicide.
